Circuit Judge Edward Miller has denied the motion for reconsideration and for a new trial made by attorneys for Jerry Buck Inman, according to 13th Circuit Solicitor Bob Ariail. Inman pleaded guilty in August 2008 to the murder of Clemson University student Tiffany Souers. Prosecutors said Inman broke into Souers' apartment, raped her and strangled her with a bikini top. Judge Miller sentenced Inman to death.
"With the denial of this motion, we are one step closer to having Mr. Inman's death sentence carried out. And I can think of no one more deserving of that sentence than Jerry Buck Inman," Ariail said.
