**Monday 10:45am Update**
The victim is listed in fair condition Monday morning at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
The Sheriff's Office says he told deputies that he answered a knock on his front door at around 12:40am. An unknown person shot him, but its not known how many individuals were outside that apartment.
The SCSO incident report says the door to the apartment was unlocked, but the chain slide lock was engaged. Deputies kicked the door in and followed a trail of blood to a rear bedroom where they found the victim on the floor.
The man said "a girl came to the door and the guys shot me."
There is no description of the suspects at this point.
A shooting sent a man to the hospital early Monday morning.
Now authorities are trying to find suspects in the case. Spartanburg County Sheriff's Deputies went to Hidden Park Apartments on Spruce Street around 12:45 a.m.
Officers said the victim was shot more than once, but they do not know his condition. The sheriff's office has not named a suspect, but they spent the early Monday morning hours searching the neighborhood for clues.
