**Wednesday Morning Update**
A 20-month old boy died after being found in a backyard pool of a home in Gray Court.
Ryan Douglas Davenport was pronounced dead at 5:49pm at Greenville Hospital System after being flown there by helicopter according to Deputy Coroner Vicky Cheek of the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
Emergency crews were called to the home on Wildwood Farms Road.
Cheek says Ryan had been in the pool earlier Tuesday with his mother and other family members. The children were dressed for vacation bible school and they were watching TV in the living room, but Ryan's mother says he was gone when she returned to the room.
The investigator says Ryan got out of the home and went through two gates that apparently weren't locked shut.
The mother said she wasn’t sure if she locked the gates, but she found Ryan in the above ground pool.
Cheek says that this family did have another child die, but that happened in a 4-wheeler accident.
An autopsy is being conducted Wednesday morning in Greenville.
The Sheriff's Office said they are investigating the apparent drowning, but they always investigate when a child's death is involved, according to Laurens County Public Information Officer Judy Stiles.
