Five people have been arrested after a home invasion in Laurens County.
The Laurens County Sheriff's Office announced that Tobias Turner, Kristopher Hall, Lakeem Smith, Daniel Jackson, and Mario Pridgens have all been arrested in connection with the case. Laurens County deputies say the incident occurred Tuesday at the home of Laurens County Councilman Ed McDaniel and two of McDaniel's sons were tied up and allegedly beat in the face.
A short time later, the suspect's getaway car was spotted at a Hot Spot convenience store on Highway 221 and Lisbond Road where they arrested the driver. The four other suspects in the car managed to escape, but a short time later, three of the men were apprehended after a search near New Prospect Baptist Church.
Charges of armed robbery, first-degree burglary, use of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and grand larceny are pending against the five men.
