Spartanburg County was the hardest hit Thursday, after strong thunderstorms ripped through the area in the early evening. Some, were left without power, as lines came down, and some even saw lightning strike their homes.
The Upstate was at the center of the damage.
During the early evening hours, Duke Energy said more than 48 thousand people were without power in the Upstate and North Carolina. Crews were out repairing the damage.
The Upstate wasn't the only area hit with heavy rain and strong winds. Some folks in Henderson County, North Carolina were being hit by another storm less than 24 hours after the last storm on Wednesday night.
