The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted robbery and a robbery at two area fast food restaurants.
Tuesday deputies say they may have identified the vehicle the suspects were driving.
They say a photo from a local McDonalds shows a red Jeep Cherokee, possibly a 90s model.
Monday afternoon, a suspect driving a sports utility vehicle, attempted to rob the Burger King, at 11010 Asheville Highway in Inman. According to workers, the suspect went up to the restaurant's drive-thru window and pulled out a gun and demanded money, but the clerk managed to flee, and the suspect was unable to get any money.
A short time later (about 25 minutes), a suspect matching the same description struck with success at a McDonald's on New Cut Road. The suspect went up to the drive-thru and demanded money--got it--and took it.
NewsChannel 7 spoke exclusively with the cashier at the Burger King who was held up.
Because the suspect was wearing a hat, she couldn't tell if it was a man or woman, but thinks it was a woman.
She described what happened:
"She came through the drive through and ordered a small coke..."
"When she came to the window--she didn't care about the coke no longer--she wanted the money out my drawer."
"She was like--give me all you're money--and she had the gun pointed right in my face."
"The window was still open--I just took off running."
(Reporter: "What do they train you do in situations like that?") "You're supposed to give them the money--but all you are thinking about is--gun in my face--I might get shot--I might die--so I just ran."
Deputies still arent sure how many suspects were in the vehicle, or if they are looking for a man or a woman or both.
But witnesses tell us, the driver of a red SUV had long hair and was wearing a baseball cap.
