The Westview-Fairforest Fire Department will show where taxpayer dollars are being spent Tuesday night.
There has been an ongoing investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division over claims of embezzlement. Former Chief David Culbreth was removed by the board of commissioners in February. Culbreth blamed the financial problems on bad bookkeeping.
The department also faces a lawsuit.
Lewis Cromer, a Columbia attorney is representing Christopher Harris in a lawsuit filed against the department.
Cromer says the issue arose because of Harris’ dismissal as Assistant Chief from the fire department in 1983.
It was filed in US District Court June 10.
The lawsuit doesn’t specify an amount of money that they want.
Cromer declines to comment on the case other than to say he has faith this case will stand up in court.
Meanwhile the department has approved a list of requirements for a new chief and approved a plan to get out of debt.
News Channel 7 will update this story after Tuesday's meeting.
