Public Facilities Energy Efficiency in Pickens along with a water treatment plant upgrade in Abbeville and Oakland Mill Water and Sewer Upgrade in Newberry are receiving stimulus money.
The projects were among 12 that are to receive more than $5.9 million in stimulus funds through a Community Development Block Grant.
The grants by CDBG are pending approval from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The South Carolina Commerce Department says the 12 projects - based on estimates provided by municipalities in their applications - will create or retain 456 jobs.
HUD approval is estimated to be given to states by August 14.
