A Cleveland County, NC manufacturer is adding 114 jobs to an operation in Kings Mountain.
Baldor Electric Company will add those positions at the company that serves as an international supplier of industrial electric motors, mechanical power transmission products, drives and generators.
Governor Beverly Perdue's office says Baldor Electric plans to invest more than $12.2 million and create 114 jobs during the next three years.
The announcement was made possible in part by a $157,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
"North Carolina's manufacturing sector remains strong and diverse," Gov. Perdue said in a written statement. "Our state is attractive to growing companies because of our highly skilled workforce, business-friendly climate and tremendous quality of life."
Baldor Electric Company has three plants in North Carolina. Facilities in Kings Mountain, Marion and Weaverville employ nearly 700 total workers.
No information has been issued on when any hiring will take place at the Kings Mountain facility.
