Two puppies, just days old, were thrown out with the trash and discovered by a Walmart employee when he heard whimpering coming from a garbage can outside the store in Central.
The boy and girl pups, believed to be a shephard-boxer mix, were just days old and covered with trash.
Luckily, the store greeter knew an animal groomer and trainer- his wife! The couple, Shorty and Debbie Abbenante, owns Debbie's Perfect Pets and they've also rescued many more animals, including a donkey, mini horses, goats and birds.
Debbie says when Shorty brought the pups home, their eyes weren't even open yet and they had to have constant care.
She said they would have died in just a few hours inside the garbage can.
"It's just really bad to take newborn healthy puppies and just throw them away with the trash," said Debbie.
The couple says they will adopt the dogs out when they get bigger, but only to the perfect owner. Otherwise the dogs will be staying at their home.
If you're interested in adopting the dogs, you can call Debbie's Perfect Pets at 864-639-3211.
