My husband went to court and was charged with two years probation. He had a paid lawyer that was no help at all. No one tried to speak with him about the case not even the solicitor. And I can't understand that. A few other people we know that have been charged with the same thing recieved a one year probation term and the other 9 months probation. They both were women. Is that discrimination? I don't know but I do know something is not right. We found out today that his lawyer is also representing the person who was giving us the scripts. Is that a conflict of intrest? I don't know that either. It just does not seem right. Did his lawyer know. Yes. He knew where we were getting them from. Did anyone else know. No. He was never asked and which we probably would not have told anyway. But apparently no one cared. If you are willing to tell someone you have a drug problem and you know you do and want help, why won't they help you. We don't have the funds to get help. Neither of us is working but recieve 200 dollars a week. What are we supposed to do. We want help. We are addicted to pain medication and have been for 3 years. What can we do? How can you make someone that you know has a drug problem report for probation in 2 weeks for a drug test? I think that is inhumane. How can you get off of drugs that fast? There is no way without help that we can't afford. We have 2 children which i love with all my heart. I want this for them too because it is unfair to them for there parents to be addicted to drugs. We don't want to be anymore. We do want help. I can't stress that enough. But is there anything I can do to lessen my husbands sentence because of the conflict of intrest?
