A man held two people at gunpoint after deputies say the suspects tried to break into a home in Cowpens.
David Scott Hood and Melissa Ann Barrs are being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center after the incident at noon Wednesday. Both face charges of second degree burglary, petit larceny and possession of meth.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a man saw Barrs outside a home on Iron Bridge Road and went to talk to her. The neighbor says Barrs claimed to be a friend of his neighbor.
Deputies tell us the neighbor went home, armed himself with a gun and called 911. When he returned he says he spotted someone under a storage building at the rear of the home.
The neighbor held them at gunpoint until deputies arrived.
Hood is being held on $16,000 bond while Barrs had a $9,000 bond issued by a judge.
