COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Gov. Mark Sanford meets with his Cabinet this afternoon and his spokesman says the governor will discuss the week in which he left the state and confessed to having an affair with a woman in Argentina.
Spokesman Joel Sawyer says Sanford then plans to get on with conducting the business of the state. Sanford said yesterday he has no plans to resign after admitting he had a year-long affair with the woman, whom he said he was with three times.
First lady Jenny Sanford says she's focusing on her sons and it's up to the governor to deal with the impact on his career.
Sanford said yesterday he would reimburse the state for the cost of a trip to Argentina last year in which he was with the woman while on a state business trip.
Republican National Committee member Glenn McCall says Sanford should resign.
