Two children, who wandered off from their parents in the North Carolina / Tennessee mountains, have been found.

6-year-old Alex Suddeath and his 4-year-old sister Heidi Suddeath were found about 22 hours after they went missing.

Authorities say the kids wandered off from their parents near a parking area at Roan Mountain in Mitchell County, NC.

Law enforcement issued an Amber Alert fearing the children had been kidnapped.

Crews Searched Wednesday night and Thursday morning and knew they were in the right spot after they found a pair of crocs the kids had been wearing.

Searchers say they just through a steep rocky area that is dangerous for even expert hikers.

Alex and Heidi reportedly slept beside a log as the temperatures dipped into the 40’s over night, maybe even reaching the upper 30’s.

Although the kids were hungry, cold, and damp, they were just fine.

The parents of the Alex and Heidi did not want to interview on camera, but they did thank all the searchers and the media for helping to find their kids.
