Coming Up At The Statehouse

A preview of what will make headlines next week at the Statehouse

Coming up next week at the Statehouse, House lawmakers will debate a bill that would require optometrists practicing in the state to consult with a patient's eye doctor when perscribing drugs like topical steriods for more than 21 days.

Senate lawmakers will take up a bill that would require the father of a child under supervision by the Department of Social Services to file a claim of paternity with the agency. The claim would be filed in a registry that would be used to notify the father of his paternal rights and any actions the agency is taking against him or the child.

Also, Governor Mark Sanford is expected to announce what, if any, of the stimulus money he will accept from the federal stimulus package.
