Detroit automakers will be tested today as members of the Obama administration's auto task force look into business at Chrysler and GM.
The group will test drive the Chevrolet Volt electric car and tour a Chrysler factory where the Dodge Ram pickup truck is put together.
They will also meet with senior General Motors and Chrysler executives.
GM and Chrysler are living on 17.4 billion dollars in government loans approved by the Bush administration last year, and they have asked for a total of 39 billion.
Obama appointed the task force to review the companies' plans and decide if they should get additional help.
