An AMBER Alert has been issued to find James Ashley Harris.
The Statesville, North Carolina Police Department says the boy's mother is the abductor and they may be headed for Atlanta. Police say the child is in danger.
James Ashley Harris is African-American, three years old, stands approximately three feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. He has black hair, and brown eyes. Last seen wearing a gray and black shirt, blue jeans and a green and gold jacket.
Harris was abducted at Signal Hill Mall in Statesville while shopping with grandparents. Police say the boy's mother Kira Leneshia Shaw-Wright, 28, took him and left in an unknown type of vehicle.
Shaw-Wright is described as African-American, 5'10" and weighs 100 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Shaw-Wright was last seen wearing an orange and black skirt and a white jacket.
