Union County Dollar General Job Fair Wednesday

The Dollar General Distribution Center in Jonesville is holding a job fair Wednesday until 4:00pm.

As many as 30-40 general warehouse positions are available and applicants can attend the job fair at the Union Workforce Center at 440 North Duncan By-Pass.

The company will hire warehouse workers through a temporary agency, Phillips Staffing, in Gaffney. Applicants - who meet all requirements within an undisclosed period after hiring - will be hired on a full-time basis by Dollar General.

Dollar General officials, along with those from the S.C. Employment Security commission, will collaborate to take applications and screen potential employees.

Gus Soto, the Union WFC area director, says they are looking to fill 30 to 40 positions.

If you can't attend Wednesday's Job Fair, you can go by the workforce center at South Carolina Employment Security Commission office (Union Workforce Center) on North Duncan By-Pass and they will fill out a Dollar General application and submit it for you.

Union county has the highest unemployment rate in the Upstate. The March jobless figure in Union County was 20.0% according to the S.C. Employment Security Commission.
