Members of the 1055th Transportation Company depart from the Upstate and will soon be in Iraq.
About 175 members of the Army National Guard's 1055th Transportation Company, based in Laurens, departed for training Wednesday Morning.
After their two month training in Georgia, they will head to Iraq.
They will be in Iraq for about nine months.
While in the war zone, the 1055th will be security support for convoys.
For some of the soldiers, this is their first deployment, but for others it is their third or fourth.
