CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina woman has been accused of illegally accessing information on the passport applications of celebrities.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported Tuesday that 45-year-old Yvette Burrison of Summerville worked at the U.S. State Department's passport office in North Charleston.
A federal court document states that Burrison improperly accessed information on celebrities, actors, musicians, models, athletes, family members and others. The names were not released.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin McDonald says there is no indication Burrison shared the information with anyone.
Burrison is accused of fraud activity connected with computers. She could be sentenced to up to one year in prison and fined $100,000 if she is convicted.
It was unclear if Burrison had an attorney.
