JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - Drew Peterson is headed back to court where his attorneys will seek to reduce his $20 million bond.
The defense says it will ask the Illinois judge to reduce the former police sergeant's bond to under $500,000 during a hearing Friday afternoon.
Peterson is charged with murder in the death of his third wife. Kathleen Savio's body was found in a bathtub in 2004 and her death was initially ruled an accidental drowning.
Peterson is also a suspect in the 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.
He has long maintained his innocence in Savio's death and Stacy Peterson's disappearance.
Prosecutors in the murder case against Peterson got their wish yesterday when a new judge was appointed to preside over his trial.
