Those laid-off from their jobs are getting a little extra help from the Employment Security Commission.
A once a week job seeking skills workshop is held in hopes of giving you the edge when it comes to finding a new job.
Although there’s so much to cover in the hour meeting, officials break down the basics.
They say the four best pieces of information for getting a new job are: being positive, having a positive interview in which you stay focused on the jobs requirements and the skills you have for those requirements, have a one page, concise resume, and make sure you fill out the job application neatly and completely
These workshops are mandatory for those chosen to take part. Although there are exemptions, you could lose your unemployment benefits if you don't go.
If you aren't chosen, you can still take part by contacting the Employment Security Commission.
