Spartanburg Deputies Catch "Dangerous" Armed Robbery Suspect

McKanic has been charged with two counts of armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested the gunman in an armed robbery. Demarius Allen McKanic, 18, of Spartanburg was wanted for robbing two men late Saturday night at the Country Club Apartments on Country Club Road. He is currently in the Union County Jail.

Two men say they got out of their car and were walking toward an apartment building when a group of individuals - two armed with hand guns - approached them.

Those suspects stole personal electronic items and cash from the victims and then fled the scene in a vehicle with dark tinted windows.

McKanic has been charged with two counts of armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon.
