If you're looking for a job there is some free training going on that could give you the edge on getting some new jobs coming to the Upstate.
The Upstate Workforce Investment Board and Spartanburg Community College are partnering to offer a manufacturing course known as MSSC. It is an accreditation they say manufacturing employers are looking for.
Due to BMW’s expansion, other automotive manufacturers in the Upstate are also adding workers to keep up with the demand.
Officials say between the auto industry and other manufacturing companies about 12-hundred new jobs are coming to the Upstate between January and April 2010.
Again, this training is free.
The next orientation is on November the 10th at 6 pm and there are nearly 200 spots available.
You don't have to have previous manufacturing experience but you do have to pass an assessment and drug test.
To register you can either go to Career Source’s website and click on MSSC or call them at 864-562-4168.
