Hours after a church burglary suspect got out of jail, investigators said he pulled a gun on two women. On Saturday, Spartanburg Public Safety arrested 55-year-old Ricky Turley at Southside Baptist Church. The church had so much damage, children had to be turned away from a trick-or-treating event.
On Monday morning he posted his bond and was put on electronic monitoring. But eight hours later investigators told News Channel 7's coverage partners at the 'Herald Journal' he tried to rob two women in a car at gunpoint on South Converse Street.
On Tuesday Turley was back at the Spartanburg County Detention center on new charges. Police told the paper, Turley's criminal record dates back to 1973. He was supposed to only leave the home for approved activities.
Church leaders call this second crime frustrating. To read more on this story, click here.
