»  Comments | Post a Comment

South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is offering H1N1 vaccines throughout the Upstate.

Sunday, hundreds lined up outside of Cherokee County Public Health Department to get the shot. "I'm here to get H1N1 flu shot because it's really ramped and I go to college and I have a less of a chance of getting it if I get the flu shot," said college student Kristen Henson.

DHEC also offered the vaccine in Pickens County.

Page Rogers, Region Two Director of Health Education, hopes they will be able to hold more clinics in the future. “We do anticipate getting more it as it’s developed,” she said.

DHEC will be offering five H1N1 clinics throughout November and December. They will begin offering the vaccine in Spartanburg beginning in December. For a complete list, visit DHEC’s website.

Children, pregnant women, young adult up to the age of 24, and adults with serious health problems are eligible for the H1N1 vaccine.
