The plane that caused a major scare on Highway 14 had already given its pilot reason for concern.
The owner of Stevens Aviation tells News Channel 7 the pilot brought the twin-entine turbo prop in for maintenance Monday morning, and asked two technicians to take a look at the plane's avionics.
They decided to take it up for a test flight.
Stevens Aviation COO Neal McGrail says, "Our guys would have never got into the airplane if they thought there was a safety issue issue. So, I wouldn't make the connection that the problem the pilot wanted them to look at, same as what caused the crash."
The FAA says it is looking at the possibility that the plane may have run out of fuel.
Stevens Aviation refused to speculate on the cause.
McGrail says, "Our main concern is the three people who are on the airplane. We're just trying to focus on that at this point."
Stevens Aviation identifies the two technicians that were on board as Ed Wilk and Derrick Holliday.
They have non life-threatening injuries.
The pilot, Mado McDonald, has a broken hip and ankle.
McGrail says, "We'll just keep praying for these guys to get out of the hospital as soon as possible."
