A Seneca man has been arrested and charged almost two weeks after a man was electrocuted while attempting to steal copper wiring.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office arrested 43-year old Todd Allen Epperson, of Seneca, and charged him with injury to real property, fixtures or improvements to obtain nonferrous metals resulting in death of another person.
Lt. Greg Reed of the Oconee County Sheriff's Office told our coverage partners at the Anderson Independent-Mail that Epperson, along with Frankie Sheriff, were attempting to steal a quantity of copper wire belonging to Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative on October 31 near a old textile mill in Westminster. In the process, Sheriff was electrocuted. A flashlight and crowbar were found lying beside Sheriff's body.
