MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - An airport on the South Carolina coast says it will again offer nonstop international flights beginning next year.
Multiple media outlets reported Friday that Porter Airlines will offer flights twice a week from Toronto Island Airport in Canada to Myrtle Beach International Airport. The South Carolina airport has not offered nonstop service to an international destination since Hooters Air stopped flights in 2006.
Porter Airlines executive Robert Deluce says Canadians have always liked being able to visit Myrtle Beach and the new international flights will make it easier.
Myrtle Beach hosts a Canadian-American Days festival each spring, drawing about 100,000 visitors.
