Firefighters have under control an afternoon fire in Pickens County. The blaze broke out late Friday afternoon in a building off Equine Drive near Lake Jocassee. The building, which contained flammable materials, was destroyerd by the fire, and the flames spread from the building to adjacent property. About a half-acre was burned.
The fire call came from a man who claimed his father in law's building was on fire. When firefighters arrived, the building was fully engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
