Two Greenville County school bus accidents sent several people to the hospital Friday morning. Highway Patrol says one of the accidents closed down State Park Road at Piney Mountain Road.

A student and two drivers were sent to the hospital for treatment after a school bus was hit by a car.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the Greenville County bus was traveling south on Altamont when a Dodge Neon dipped off the left shoulder of the road, came back onto the pavement and ran head-on into the bus.
The accident happened around 6:40 a.m..
The Greenville County School District says the bus was at the start of it's route and there was one elementary school student on board when the accident happened. It doesn't appear there were serious injuries to the student - reported to be nine years old by troopers - and the bus driver according to spokesman Oby Lyles.
A 16-year-old girl was ccharged with failing to yield the right of way after a second accident involving another school bus. Eight special needs students were among 10 people who were sent to a hospital - as a precautionary measure - after the accident in Mauldin.
Cpl. Kathy Hiles with the South Carolina Highway Patrol tells News Channel 7 the accident happened around 7:25 a.m. Friday on Neely Ferry Road at Hawthorne Drive. Hiles says the school bus driver and the driver of a Ford Expedition were also taken to the hospital after the accident.
News Channel 7 photographer Charles Powell says the Ford Expedition had damage to the left front of the vehicle and the school bus sustained damage to the right front.
