A small chemical leak briefly forced fire officials to ask people to stay inside their homes in a small section of Camp Croft. The leak occurred at the Blackman Uhler Chemical Company on West Camp Croft Circle. A chemical reaction occurred in one of the containers on site, sending out vapors into the surrounding neighborhood. People living near the plant were asked to stay inside while officials investigated the leak. The amount released was "small", according to the Croft Fire Department. The scene was cleared about 3 hours after the initial call. There were no injuries reported.
