Some needy area kids are going to have a nice Christmas thanks to some rough, gruff, and leather bound bikers.
The 7th Annual Kops Kids toy run brought the bikers and toys out to Chesnee on Sunday. The event is part of the fundraising to get toys for needy kids in the Chesnee area. Last year the Chesnee Police Department was able to help 135 kids get a couple of presents each. They are expecting to help even more kids this year.
Police Chief Scott Smith says this toy run accounts for 85% of the toys that are donated to the cause. “These bikers are the reason that our toys are as successful… the amount of toys we get, the bikers are the ones that do it for us,” says Chief Smith.
If you live in the Chesnee area and need help in getting presents for your kids or you would like to donate some gifts, you can call the Chesnee Police Department at 864-461-2225. You have to act soon because they are only taking applications for the next couple of weeks.
