Asheville Police Search For Pisgah View Apt. Shooting Suspect

ASHEVILLE – Police detectives have taken out warrants on a man in connection with a shooting earlier this month at Pisgah View Apartments.

Police say Hernandez Jewel Finch Jr. of Asheville, is wanted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Investigators say Finch is believed to be driving a 2007 red Chevy Cobalt with the N.C. license plate YRR3578.

Police say on Nov. 7, APD West District officers were dispatched to Pisgah View Apartments in reference to a man who had been shot in front of the 27 building, next to his car.

The victim, Rodriquez Demario Paul of Arden, is still being treated at Mission Hospital.

Police say Paul and Finch and some of their friends had been involved in a fight earlier on the evening of Nov. 7 at the Happy Days club on Patton Avenue.

The fight escalated when the groups met up again a few hours later at Pisgah View Apartments.

Police say Finch has ties to Kansas City, Mo., and may be headed there and he is considered armed and dangerous.

Police say anyone with information on his whereabouts should not approach Finch directly, but should contact police at (828) 252-1110 or Crime Stoppers at (828)
