Judy Albert won the District 6 seat on Greer City Council by two votes, according to unofficial results from Tuesday's runoff election.
Albert claimed 130 votes during the runoff, while incumbent Belle Coxe Mercado received 128. Mercado fell just three votes shy of being re-elected on November 3, The City of Greer Municipal Elections Commission consulted with the Greenville County Voter Registration and Elections Office Tuesday evening and confirmed that a recount would be conducted on Thursday.
The commission will meet at noon Thursday at the Greenville County Voter Registration and Elections office to recount the totals and certify the results.
