Spartanburg County Sheriff's Deputies have released new information Wednesday morning in a shooting that killed a hunter. Investigators said it appears to have been an accident.
Spartanburg County Coroner has identified the hunter as 30-year old Jon Krisher of 207 Coggins Road.
Krisher was found dead in some woods off 207 Coggins Road in the Reidville Community on Tuesday night. Sheriff's deputies said Wednesday morning that the victim may have shot himself accidentally.
An autopsy performed late Wednesday afternoon revealed that Krisher received a single gunshot wound to the chest, according to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger. Clevenger says that toxicology results will need to be performed before a manner of death can be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
News Channel 7 tried to ask his family what happened, but the photographer was asked to leave the property.
