Local Reaction To Gov. Sanford Ethics Report

»  Comments | Post a Comment

News Channel 7 got local reaction to the Sanford ethics news.

One of the first State Senators to recommend the Governor step aside was Senator Larry Martin of Pickens County.

"Its a serious thing--and I'm disappointed it has gotten this far," he said.

He says the final ethics commission findings will determine what course of action should then be taken. Senator Martin says it's terrible that the state still has all of this in front of it.

As for local voters, we spoke with a few in Greenville County.

One telling us, "The overall situation is tragic for the governor and the state."

Another woman commenting, "There are a lot of politicians that do that--break a lot of laws--that are not caught--they are scrutinizing every side of the coin."
