***UPDATE***

It was all hands on deck Friday in Greenville County as a giant piece of a Duke Energy generator continued its way through the Upstate.

The "stator" as it's called, is in the midst of a three month, 300 mile journey to its new home in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

Nearly a hundred workers from the power company, movers, and law enforcement have been working together to make the trip a safe one.

All along Friday’s path, stator watchers lined the road to take pictures. They say they just wanted to see what nearly 400 tons looked like going down the road.

“Let's say it's the biggest thing to hit 25. I've never come out here on Highway 25 to look at anything before, but this is it and I enjoyed it,” says stator watcher Bill Palmer.

After stopping for the night, the stator will move again on Sunday. It will start about 6 p.m. and will travel through Greenville starting along S.C. 25 and arrive on the south side of Highway 124. On Monday, it will travel to the junction of Highway 25 and Highway 11.

A massive Duke Energy generator - weighing 880,000 pounds - is traveling through Greenville County causing some traffic issues.

The generator is being taken to the Cliffside Steam Station outside Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

The truck hauling the generator travels at about five miles an hour with the total weight of the two vehicles adding up to 1.5 million pounds.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says the truck will enter the county around noon, traveling on Highway 25 between Long Truck Body and Eldeco.

The trip won't resume until Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

When the truck will travel Highway 25 (augusta Road) to Mills Avenue, Marue Drive, Washington Avenue and ending up on White Horse Road.

The transporter will probably stop for the night on White Horse Road south of Highway 124.

The next leg of the trip is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.

On Tuesday, the transporter will continue on White Horse Road, Highway 25 and finally Highway 11.

South Carolina Transport Police and off-duty Greenville County Sheriff's deputies will escort the transporter.
