A jury has determined Spartanburg Public Safety Officers were not negligent when they used a front-loader to help end a hostage standoff in 2004. A gunman held the store owner's wife hostage for 13 hours before a SWAT team freed her and shot the man. Randy Vinson was the man operating the front end loader that smashed a hole in the store.
News Channel 7's coverage partners at "Herald-Journal" report the owners of the store were seeking over $600,000 dollars for damages to the Fast Point Convenience Store on South Church Street.
Jimmy Johnson is now serving a life sentence for the crime. To read more on this story click here. Click on the video link to watch video from the 2004 hostage standoff.
