Two Separate Serial Bank Robbers Striking in the Carolinas

Investigators throughout the Carolinas are searching for two suspected serial bank robbers.

Lt. Ron Cantrell with Spartanburg Public Safety says both men have facial hair, drive white vehicles and use notes when they rob a bank. He says one of the men doesn't talk and drives a white van. "Pretty much nobody knows the bank has have been robbed with this individual. He's pretty smooth with the transaction," Lt. Cantell said. He says this robber, who wears a goatee, has robbed banks in Spartanburg, Greenville, and Florence. He also says the same man has struck at nearly a half a dozen banks in North Carolina.

The second serial bank robber, Lt. Cantrell says, hit the First Citizen's Bank in Spartanburg on Wednesday. He says this robber wears a beard and drives a white van. Investigators say he also robbed banks in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point, North Carolina..

Spartanburg Public Safety will beef up patrol by four officers a day beginning on Black Friday.
