Clinton Public Safety Officer Arrested For DUI

A Clinton Police Officer was arrested early Friday morning and charged with driving under the influence.

A spokesperson for the South Carolina Highway Patrol says that Joshua Howell was arrested at 2:40 am at a gas station at the intersection of Highway 72 and Highway 76 in Clinton. According to the Highway Patrol, Howell was driving his GMC pickup truck in the parking lot of the gas station when he struck a parked car.

There were no injuries. There was no immediate word on whether Howell faces any disciplinary action due to the arrest.
