ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - University of Georgia police have taken out warrants charging a former UGA student in connection with a complaint by a Clemson University student that he was beaten at a fraternity house.
The Athens Banner-Herald reported that police on Friday charged 23-year-old Gene Whitner Milner III with felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery.
The charges stem from claims by an 18-year-old visiting Clemson student that he was held captive at the Chi Phi fraternity house early on Nov. 15. The Clemson student was in town for the Georgia-Auburn football game on Nov. 14. Milner, who is not a Chi Phi member, was last enrolled at UGA during the spring semester.
Calls to a number listed for Milner in Athens Saturday rang unanswered.
