After temporary safety measures were put into place, the Union County Stadium was filled with fans friday night, for the final game of the season.
This, after a collapse last Friday night, which left 28 injured. It happened during the Union County-JL Mann high football playoff game. The collapse has been blamed on rain, an old structure and students leaning on the walls, according to county officials.
Fans were warned not to lean against or sit on the concrete walls, and a portion of the stands that collapsed was fenced off.
The stadium is run by the county, and the supervisor says meetings will be held to discuss future repairs at the stadium once the season is over.
