Spartanburg Organization Needs Help For Thanksgiving Day Dinner

»  Comments | Post a Comment

With the way the economy is right now, this Thanksgiving is going to be a hard one for some people. Knowing that, an area organization is hoping they can give those that need help, at least one thing to be thankful about. But in order to do that, they need your help.

Spartanburg City Councilwoman Linda Dogan is making her last minute plea for help to make this year's Feed the Community Thanksgiving dinner a success.

She says last year they fed more than 6,200 people. She expects this years total to be more than 7,500 people.

Dogan says they need volunteers and monetary donations, adding they are still $4,000 short.

“Just think about it if you are an 80-something-year-old person who has nobody and this one day out of the year somebody comes and give you a meal, but not only that, give you a hug and let you know that someone cares. You can't buy that, you can't buy that,” Dogan says.

If you would like to volunteer as either a food server or deliverer you can call this number: 864-582-7556.

If you would like to donate money to help out you can call: 864-949-5800.
