Mauldin Police Bust Internet Suspected Predator From Lancaster

Mauldin Police have arrested a man as part of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Benjamin James Threatt, 20, of Lancaster was arrested November 19 in an internet predator sting. Threatt is charged with one count of criminal solicitation of a minor. The charge is punishable by up to ten years in prison.

The ICAC says Threatt solicited sex on the internet from an individual he believed to be minor girl beginning in July. He was actually communicating with an undercover Mauldin Police officer.

Three desktop computers and a hard drive were taken from his home in Lancaster.

Threatt is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
