The Greenville County Coroner says the bodies of Michael and Sandra Waters were found inside their Greer home Monday night. The coroner says it appears they both shot themselves in the garage of the home. They are both said to be in their early 70s.
Its believed the bodies were there for some time, before neighbors noticed a dark house, and something wasn't right and called police.
Neighbors told News Channel 7 the pair moved into the home a few years ago. They were involved in a number of neighborhood activities.
Neighbor Sally Hyman was stunned. She said, "I talked to them when they were walking the dogs, it was always hi how are you, weather's nice, weather's not nice. It's very shocking for any neighborhood that someone feels they have to do this".
Friends of the victims told News Channel 7, they do not have family members living nearby.
