Hiding in a closet--police track down a woman accused of stealing from a 91 year old.
But that feisty victim has a few punishment suggestions.
The suspect--from Spartanburg--faced a judge Tuesday night shortly after her arrest.
She is accused of stealing and destroying the van of 91 year old Helen Coggins of Spartanburg.
Deputies say not only was Lindsay Brooke Owens the thief--they say she made harassing phone calls to frighten the elderly woman after the theft.
Coggins says the theft happened after she was absent minded and left car keys outside for a few minutes. She says the suspect must have been watching her.
Coggins tells us, the suspect terrorized her for months.
Coggins says Owens--the granddaughter of a neighbor--had been breaking into her house and stealing things for the past few months. She would call deputies but she says Owens would get back out and quickly be up to her old tricks.
After our viewers saw this story Monday, the van was spotted abandoned. And soon--the suspect herself.
After getting tips, deputies found her at a home in northern Spartanburg County--hiding in a closet.
Coggins is just relieved owens is off the streets. She just hopes she isn't let out easily.
"I hope they put her under the jail...not in jail...let the jail sit on top of her!," she told us.
Owens is charged with grand larceny. Her bond was set at $10,000.
