Shoppers Pack Stores To Get Black Friday Deals

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Hundreds of people started to gather outside stores in the Upstate Thursday afternoon to be ready for holiday deals when the doors opened at their favorite stores.

In Gaffney, shoppers waited in their pajamas at Prime Outlets. The wait was worth it for some lucky shoppers. The first five hundred to show up in their PJ's got a gift bag full of coupons and free things. The outlet mall has been holding the event for several years. They say this year's event was more successful than ever.

At Best Buy in Spartanburg, consumers were in line as early Thursday evening. Best Buy workers handed out tickets for certain items at 3:00 Friday morning.

The store opened at 5 a.m. Best Buy is advertising savings on flat screen televisions, computers, movies, and mobile phones. The store anticipates large crowds all weekend. Some sales began on Thursday on the store's website.

Many say they need to get a good buy with the economy hurting their bottom line this year.

By Friday night stores and parking lots were still packed, from Spartanburg to Greenville.

Haywood Mall and the Shops At Greenridge saw bumper to bumper traffic and long long waits at the checkout.

Saturday is expected to be brisk too as sales continue.
