Greenwood Police said they shot and killed a dog while trying to arrest a man on a drug charge. The Greenwood Drug Enforcement Division told News Channel 7, police were trying to serve a warrant on 38-year-old Bryant Quarles around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night at a home on Lindsey Street Extension.
Capt. Jeremiah Atkins said circumstances forced officers to open fire on the animal inside the home. Quarles was arrested on charges of crack distribution.
Police said his juvenile son was in a separate room during the incident.
