Police say he used a hammer to carve through hundreds of pounds of concrete and drywall to rob a Greenville gas station. Now, 37 year old Timothy Kelly is behind bars. Investigators say Kelly entered the bathroom of the Sunoco gas station at 2530 East North Street in the early morning hours of September 21st. They say he then used a hammer to build a tunnel through the wall of the station. Once inside, Kelly stole 40 cartons of cigarettes and hundreds in cash from the store register. The whole thing was caught on surveillance cameras. Investigators say tips came in after the footage was shown that led them to identify the suspect.
Kelly is charged with 2nd degree burglary. He's being held at the Greenville Detention Center on a $2500 bond.
